About Outer Hebrides Relocation Services
The Outer Hebrides is a chain of islands off the West Coast of Scotland consisting of the isles of Lewis & Harris, Scalpay, North & South Uist, Benbecula, Eriskay, Barra & Vatersay, not to mention a smattering of smaller islands along the way.
The people of the islands have been subject to many changes over the thousands of years they have been inhabited. This is the culture that built the Callanish Stones, absorbed the influences of the Vikings over a thousand years ago as part of the Norse kingdom of Suðreyjar, and went on to become part of Scotland following The Treaty of Perth in 1266. Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic) developed as an independent language after the twelfth century and for around 60% of islanders it is still the language of choice. This unique blend makes for a warm, engaging and inviting people that welcomes new influences and has plenty of its own to share.
These islands are well connected and easily accessible by sea or air and most also have a good rural transport system.
